Students continued to work on design anything project! Students will start to work on filming their commercials of the product next week. Math: Students had a work period today to practice more long division with decimals. This gave students time to answer questions they may have had before tomorrow's quiz. Science: Scripts for interviewing their candidates were due today. Students were asked to complete a script of specific things to say to their candidates. Some of these things included:

Science:
Students prepared their parts of their project. The five or more interview questions for their candidate were due today. Tomorrow, students must have their scripts prepared so they can tell their candidate all about what they are interviewing them for. Language: Students continued to research in their groups of three about various sections of the pan am games. We also started on a media literacy project inspired by Miss Hodgins called "Design your own anything". Students will pick any product that they would like to create and they will design an ad for it. These will be due on Monday. Math: We continued looking at dividing decimal numbers today. We did a class activity where students had the chance to answer 15 different decimal questions. A reminder that the quiz is on Thursday. Reminders:
Marks returned today:
Today students were handed back their ted ed marks, their math quizzes as well as their drama marks back from the film festival that was on Friday. Please check this marks and then return them signed for tomorrow. Language: Today we will start to explore activities related to pan am games. Students will be given a work book to complete related to the upcoming games taking place in Hamilton. Math: We will be starting long division today. Students will have a quiz on Thursday related to how to complete this. Science: Students will get in class time today to compose their interviews for their candidates. The five or more interview questions are due June 2 and the script of things that they are saying to their candidate is due on June 3. Class time will be provided for all. After that, filming should take place wherever their candidate is located. Reminders:
Film Festival!
Today all students presented their films! It was an amazing day led by Hannah and Emma and the films were done so well! The popcorn and juice really added to the event along with the very well decorated room by our morning team! Thank you again for making this an amazing drama activity. Science: Students are reminded before you begin filming you must: 1. Have a list of questions that are made from the curriculum expectations and with the Q chart to ask your candidate 2. A list of things they should expect while on Mars and in pre training 3. Give them an idea what Mars One is about Math: Students took a small quiz today that was about multiplying decimals! We are moving onto dividing decimals next week. The quiz was a great way to prepare the students for grade seven as they are sure to see a few quizzes and test for math in that grade! Reminders:

We continued to work on multiplying decimals today. We will move onto division on Monday! Science; We started to look at our new unit today: space! We will be looking into the mars-one site and choosing candidates who deserve to go to Mars to start life there! Students will be following an intense criteria and choosing people that fit this criteria. Then they will formulate interviews for their candidate to answer. Cannot wait to start this! Drama: Tomorrow is our film festival! Cannot wait to see all the films that have been created in the last little while! Today we looked at decimal numbers and multiplying by tens and higher. We will continue to practice this for the rest of the week and move onto division next week. Ted Ed: Today was the last day of ted ed speeches! Students need to hand in their ted ed folder along with all the comments from the students that saw the presentations. Feedback journals were collected as well to see how they felt about their performances. Ted talks will be handed back Monday! Drama: Film festival is to be presented on Friday! Today was another great day of full presentations! Tomorrow is our last day. Social Studies: Amazing presentations by the groups today. It was great to see all the effort put into all the projects. Today we prepared and then played all the class' game boards! The games were so creative, very fun and well built. Thank you to everyone especially the people that took it home to work on it over the weekend. If you go to the photo gallery section of my blog, you can see a picture of each game! We will be moving onto multiplying decimals and dividing decimals for the rest of this week. Language; Ted Ed talks are almost at a close! Thank you for our three amazing ones today and we will continue onto the rest tomorrow. Do not forget to keep updating your ted talk comment pages and making sure that your folder is all set to be handed in on Wednesday. Social studies; The rest of the social studies presentations will take place tomorrow! Any presentations that are about bringing awareness of an event that Canada has been involved in will be finished up tomorrow. The group that won the classes vote will compose a letter tomorrow to take to the office. Drama: Drama work period tomorrow to complete your film festival movie. A HUGE congratulations to all students that participated in the triathlon today! It was an action pack day filled with watching swimming, biking and last but not least the running! Everyone was so well behaved and everyone represented Ancaster Meadow with pride! Thanks also to the students that stayed behind and worked with other teachers and their classes today. Your accommodating attitude was much appreciated!

We said a sad farewell to our student teacher Mr. Dowd today! We will miss him! Today was a very exciting day because we went to go see Mulan! The show was well run by Mrs.Knauer at Ancaster Senior. Thank you to all 23 students who came from our class today and sat quietly and respected the performers!
